Oooo that smell... Join us as we talk about an invasive pest that snuck over from Asia and now wreaks havoc on agricultural crops. While the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug can be a headache for farmers, it can also drive homeowners crazy. Find out how to keep them away and learn a couple of facts about these weird little creatures - this week on the Conservation Corner. Event: Northern Saw-whet Owls in Lackawanna State Park Friday, October 29 at 7:30pm Come learn about PA’s smallest owl, the Northern Saw-whet, and how Lackawanna State Park is part of ongoing research into these secretive birds of the night. Presented by Dr. Rob Smith of the University of Scranton, and Mary Ann Bogert, graduate student at Bloomsburg University, they will speak about owl natural history, ongoing owl research in the park, and how these birds are captured and analyzed before being released. With any luck, owls will be captured during the program for you to see close up! Meet in the Environmental Learning Center. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.
