No-Till Seed Reimbursement

New this year, we are excited to offer a No-Till Seed Reimbursement program to Susquehanna County Farmers! If the cost of seed has you down, rent our no-till equipment and we will cover the cost of seed acres planted. Up to a $5,000 reimbursement per farmer, this initiative is designed to support conservation efforts, improve soil health, and promote sustainable farming practices in our community. For more information, please contact our office at 570-782-2105 or find the application below!

ALL interested applicants must first fill out a Pre-Application Form. Once the form is filled out completely, return the form to SCCD. A representative from SCCD will contact you to set up a site visit to discuss the potential project and see if the project meets ACAP eligibility.    Download form HERE
Once a pre-application site visit has been performed, the applicant will fill out an application to the best of their abilities.  The District recommends requesting assistance from the SCCD or a private consultant as the application requires preliminary design and cost estimate.

Projects submitted during a given quarter are ranked by a Quality Assurance Board. Based on ranking criteria & available funding, the QAB will vote on the quarterly projects and provide the SCCD board with sufficient information to make a final decision on submitted projects.

The Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP) was created through the Clean Streams Fund established by the FY2022-23 General Funds State Budget.

The purpose of the $154 million program is to assist farmers and landowners in the design and installation of agricultural BMP’s that will reduce or prevent nutrient and sediment losses from their farms and improve water quality and soil health across the Commonwealth.

ACAP is administered by the State Conservation Commission (SCC) and delegated to participating conservation districts for local implementation of the program. Funding to participating county conservation districts is based on written apportionment criteria developed by the SCC. The SCC’s apportionment criteria must consider:

  • Agriculturally Impaired Stream Miles
  • Number of Cropland Acres
  • Number of Farms
  • Number of Livestock and Poultry
  • Other criteria established by the SCC

Support Environmental Education in Our Community
Your donation makes a lasting impact! By supporting environmental education, you help fund vital programs like Envirothon, Eco-Explorer Day Camp, Community Outreach Events, and hands-on experiences for Scouting and Homeschooling groups. These programs help inspire the next generation to care for our natural world, build leadership skills, and foster a deeper connection to the environment. Every contribution helps us reach more students, families, and landowners across Susquehanna County, cultivating each, to become better stewards of our planet.
