An Agricultural Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (Ag E&S) is required for tilling and Heavy Use Areas of Protection (HUAP) that exceed 5,000 square feet under PA Code §102.4(a). This plan is intended to list Best Management Practices (BMP) that reduce excess nutrient and sediment loads in local waterways.
If tillage or HUAPs are under 5,000 square feet, an Ag E&S plan is not required, but BMPs should be implemented.
Note: If no-till equipment is used, an Ag E&S plan is still required if all criteria are met.
An Ag E&S plan can be written by a producer, but it’s highly encouraged to contact our staff for assistance.
