Dirt and Gravel Roads
The PA State Conservation Commission’s Dirt and Gravel Road Pollution Prevention Program provides training and funding to local townships to help prevent stream pollution from excess road sediment. The Susquehanna County Conservation District works with local townships in the county to develop a work plan to correct pollution problems on unpaved roads, which also results in a drastic decrease in road maintenance once projects are completed.

The Susquehanna County Department of Planning and Development administers the day-to-day operations of the Susquehanna County Planning Commission. Review of subdivision and land development plans, preparation for the monthly Planning Commission meeting, ordinance review and development, and supporting any and all activities relative to land use and the development of the county are duties of the Department.

Upper Susquehanna Coalition
The Upper Susquehanna Coalition is made up of voting and non-voting members of fourteen New York State and Pennsylvania counties and their bordering associate counties. These members represent nine different kinds of member organizations within the Upper Susquehanna River Watershed. Its members work closely with coalition partners at all levels of government and the private sector.
